Un d\u00e9calage existant entre les missions des services d\u2019information et les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s diverses des publics emp\u00each\u00e9s peuvent parfois faire voir le monde \u00e0 l\u2019envers. Alors que l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019information constitue un droit fondamental autant qu\u2019un enjeux crucial, de nombreuses organisations ne parviennent pas \u00e0 remplir la mission, faute d\u2019identifier ad\u00e9quatement les besoins r\u00e9els des publics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized is-style-default\"><a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:AAUG_p01.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"437\" src=\"https:\/\/campus.hesge.ch\/blog-master-is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/600px-AAUG_p01.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5950\" style=\"width:408px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/campus.hesge.ch\/blog-master-is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/600px-AAUG_p01.png 600w, https:\/\/campus.hesge.ch\/blog-master-is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/600px-AAUG_p01-300x219.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Lewis Carroll, domaine public, via <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:AAUG_p01.png\">Wikimedia Commons<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans le cas des publics emp\u00each\u00e9s, il faut d\u00e9velopper une capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 passer <em>de l\u2019autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 du miroir<\/em>, \u00e0 adopter de nouvelles perspectives, pour identifier les transformations \u00e0 mettre \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153uvre. Sur la base d\u2019une pr\u00e9sentation donn\u00e9e par des \u00e9tudiant\u00b7es du Master IS ce semestre d\u2019automne 2024<a href=\"#_ftn2\">[2]<\/a>, nous t\u00e2chons dans ce billet de parcourir certains obstacles et exp\u00e9riences faites. Nous \u00e9voquerons enfin l\u2019\u00e9mergence de nouveaux outils dans le but de garantir l\u2019acc\u00e8s des usager\u00b7\u00e8res \u00e0 l\u2019information et plus g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement aux services propos\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Droits, libert\u00e9s et conceptions de l\u2019information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La mise au point d\u2019un service d\u2019information implique d\u2019identifier les besoins et de garantir un acc\u00e8s \u00e9quitable \u00e0 tout le monde. En premier lieu, identifier les besoins implique de conna\u00eetre l\u2019environnement notamment social, culturel, \u00e9conomique, g\u00e9ographique des usager\u00b7\u00e8res, mais \u00e9galement les facteurs individuels jouant un r\u00f4le dans l\u2019interaction avec le service. Deuxi\u00e8mement, puisque l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019information est un droit et qu\u2019il faut le garantir de mani\u00e8re \u00e9quitable, il est n\u00e9cessaire de mettre en place des infrastructures humaines et mat\u00e9rielles adapt\u00e9es. Enfin, la libert\u00e9 intellectuelle d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 la ressource implique \u00e9galement de mettre \u00e0 disposition des collections qui refl\u00e8tent la diversit\u00e9 des usager\u00b7\u00e8res, sans quoi il est plus difficile de parler d&#8217;inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Comprendre pour mieux accueillir<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les limitations d\u2019acc\u00e8s peuvent \u00eatre de l\u2019ordre de l\u2019acc\u00e8s physique aux services\u00a0: d\u00e9tention carc\u00e9rale, handicaps physiques, s\u00e9jour en maison de retraite, situation d\u2019isolement social. Il s\u2019agit \u00e9galement des difficult\u00e9s d\u2019acc\u00e8s aux ressources\u00a0: allophonie, handicaps sensoriels ou cognitifs. Les exemples donn\u00e9s ici illustrent une partie des barri\u00e8res pouvant \u00eatre rencontr\u00e9es, puisque les limitations d\u2019acc\u00e8s peuvent se cumuler, impliquant une combinaison de solutions pour garantir l\u2019acc\u00e8s\u00a0: accueil, bibliobus, catalogue mobile, activit\u00e9s hors-les-murs (notamment en prison et en maison de retraite), livres avec gros caract\u00e8res, livres audio, et de nombreux autres outils. Un exemple int\u00e9ressant est fourni par le mus\u00e9e Ariana, qui a organis\u00e9 l\u2019exposition \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/institutions.ville-geneve.ch\/fileadmin\/user_upload\/ariana\/documents\/Expositions\/1001-Bols_Pas-de-bol-prison_Dossier-presse-FR.pdf\">Pas d\u2019bol d\u2019\u00eatre en prison<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb avec des d\u00e9tenues de Champ Dollon en 2013<a id=\"_ftnref2\" href=\"#_ftn2\">[3]<\/a>. En outre, ces dispositifs sont techniques autant qu\u2019humains, n\u00e9cessitant des moyens mat\u00e9riels mais \u00e9galement de former le personnel \u00e0 l&#8217;accueil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"BibliOdyss\u00e9e - Prendre en compte les publics emp\u00each\u00e9s en biblioth\u00e8que\" width=\"1140\" height=\"855\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hhWcvWdKt1w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00c9volution des services et des approches<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si face \u00e0 ces enjeux, les services d\u2019information int\u00e8grent diverses technologies d\u2019assistance, le d\u00e9veloppement de nouvelles approches en sciences de l\u2019information, en service design et notamment aussi l\u2019\u00e9mergence d\u2019outils tels que le chatbot ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives. Les biblioth\u00e8ques hors-les-murs et ateliers collaboratifs en m\u00e9diation culturelle sont des exemples de dispositifs traditionnels r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement repens\u00e9s pour \u00eatre inclusifs. Aujourd\u2019hui, la notion \u00e9volue conjointement \u00e0 ces pratiques orient\u00e9es public.\u00a0Partant de la notion de handicap ou d\u2019enfermement, \u00ab\u00a0on a tendance \u00e0 \u00e9largir la notion d\u2019emp\u00eachement \u00e0 celle de l\u2019\u00e9loignement [\u2026] socioculturel \u00e0 la culture et au livre\u00a0\u00bb<a id=\"_ftnref3\" href=\"#_ftn3\">[4]<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Du c\u00f4t\u00e9 des outils techniques, les technologies d\u2019assistance comme les <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dlcY7QIsP0c\">lecteurs d\u2019\u00e9cran JAWS<\/a>, les documents en braille et les audiobooks ont fait leurs preuves. Plus r\u00e9cemment, l\u2019int\u00e9gration de chatbots en biblioth\u00e8que ont permis de prendre en charge des activit\u00e9s de service au public longues et r\u00e9p\u00e9titives, ce qui n\u2019\u00e9tait auparavant pas possible sans cette technologie. Les usager\u00b7\u00e8res ont la possibilit\u00e9, en tout temps, de poser des questions simples au chatbot, soulageant ainsi consid\u00e9rablement les biblioth\u00e9caires qui peuvent consacrer leur temps \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 des demandes plus complexes<a href=\"#_ftn5\">[5]<\/a>. En revanche, bien que l\u2019utilisation d\u2019IA g\u00e9n\u00e9ratives apporte une valeur ajout\u00e9e aux services, elle constitue un risque en termes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, confidentialit\u00e9 et biais discriminatoires qui doivent \u00eatre en compte en amont de l\u2019int\u00e9gration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Communication aupr\u00e8s des publics<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enfin, rendre un service accessible ne se limite pas \u00e0 surmonter les barri\u00e8res directes. Il s\u2019agit aussi de participer \u00e0 la promotion d\u2019une culture d\u2019inclusivit\u00e9 et d\u2019ouverture, en concevant des espaces accueillants, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse de diversit\u00e9 culturelle, linguistique ou sensorielle.
