RESEARCH GROUP "EISA"

"Ecology and Engineering of Aquatic Systems"

Department of Natural Resources Management – hepia Lullier
University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland

The « EISA » group is part of inTNE (Earth Nature Environment Institute), it brings together researchers in life sciences affiliated with the Natural Resources Management Department of hepia (University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland – school of technology, architecture and landscape, Geneva). We are located in the Lullier campus near Geneva..

Research within EISA focuses on aquatic ecosystem ecology (both in the lentic and the lotic environment). Research topics range from biodiversity monitoring and environmental assessment methods to fish and macroinvertebrate ecology. Particular emphasis is placed on issues arising from local or global disturbances related to human activities.

Research projects are developed in close partnership with other institutions (Universities, High Schools, Museums, Botanical Gardens) as well as professionals (federal and cantonal authorities, nature reserves, firms, associations, companies). International relations are particularly developed with various participations in European projects.
